Outer Cinema returns to the Esquire Theatre and joins forces with Conveyor Belt Books on November 29th for a screening of William Peter Blatty’s 1980 directorial debut THE NINTH CONFIGURATION!
A metaphysical rumination on sanity and morality, THE NINTH CONFIGURATION was Blatty’s second installment in his “Trilogy of Faith” series, sitting between THE EXORCIST and THE EXORCIST III. Stacy Keach stars as a military psychiatrist assigned to an insane asylum located in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, with a stacked cast of recognizable character actors as the inmates and staff: Scott Wilson, Ed Flanders, Jason Miller (from THE EXORCIST), Neville Brand, Moses Gunn, Robert Loggia, Tom Atkins and of course, Joe Spinell.
A truly singular movie that resists any genre classifications, THE NINTH CONFIGURATION will be presented on the big screen for the first time in decades in Cincinnati by Outer Cinema, and we’re thrilled to bring along our friends at Conveyor Belt Books along for the ride!
